This week in the Detroit Church of Christ, Kyle Eastman shares the lesson 'The Crisis of Disillusionment'. Kyle explores the thoughts and feelings of disappointment that occurs when you discover that something (like the church) or someone (like your spouse or close friend) are not as good, true, or valuable as you had previously believed. Reading in the book of Acts, we see how the early church and its disciples had times like this. We can or will go through times like this now. Kyle's challenge: Once we are past the 'naive idealism' part of our Christian walk, we have to be on guard against 'cynical detachment' and find the 'faith filled realism' of a mature disciple.
