This week in the Detroit Church of Christ, Andrew Elliott begins a new series with the lesson 'Acts of the Spirit'. Reading from the books of Acts and John, we learn about the Holy Spirit and what Jesus described as an advocate. That this was part of God's plan from the beginning. How Jesus exchanged his physical presence for this divine presence that could live inside each of his people. In this lesson, Andrew helps us see that when we put our hopes in the power of this world (and not God) it changes the way that we think and the way that we live. Instead, we must put our hope in the Spirt and power of God, so we can reflect his joy, peace, comfort, love. Simply put: The power you expect is the power you reflect.
