CELEBRATE RECOVERY
Every Saturday morning starting at 9:00 a.m.
Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-Centered program that recognizes Jesus Christ as our Higher Power. We recognize that recovery is very fragile and an ongoing journey; we strive to be effective leaders and role models by dealing with our own recoveries with vigilance and open honesty.
Our goal is to serve all that come to Celebrate Recovery with the love of Jesus Christ. We want to come alongside you and share from our healing experiences so that you can do likewise. We believe that this is an act of serving one another, thus fulfilling the Word of God. (2 Corinthians 1:3-7)
These principles are based on the Beatitudes found in Matthew 5, and include their 12-step equivalent.
Based on the Beatitudes – by pastor Rick Warren
Principal 1: Realize that I am not GOD; I admit that I am powerless to control my tendency to do the
wrong thing and that my life is unmanageable. (Matt. 5:3)
Principal 2: Earnestly believe that GOD exists, that I matter to him and that he has the power to help
me recover. (Matt. 5:4)
Principal 3: Consciously choose to commit all my life and will to Christ's care and control. (Matt 5:5)
Principal 4: Openly examine and confess my faults to myself, to GOD & and to someone I trust.
(Matt. 5:8)
Principal 5: Voluntarily submit to every change GOD wants to make in my life and humbly ask him to
remove my character defects. (Matt. 5:6)
Principal 6: Evaluate all my relationships. Offer forgiveness to those who have hurt me and make
amends for harm I've done to others, except when to do so would harm them or others. (Matt. 7, 9)
Principal 7: Reserve a daily time with GOD for self-examination, Bible readings and prayer in order
to know GOD and his will for my life and to gain the power to follow his will.
Principal 8: Yield myself to GOD to be used to bring this good news to others, both by my example
and by my words. (Matt. 5:10)
