The Detroit School of World Missions (DSWM) is excited to announce our plans for missionary training in 2006. A group of seven has recently been selected and is being sent by the DSWM to support our churches and to serve in HOPE worldwide projects in Papua New Guinea (PNG) on April 24, 2006 for three weeks. The number of couples completing the FDM classes is soon approaching 40 couples as the 4th Family Dynamics class moves along. The Detroit church has truly been blessed to see marriages strengthened as husbands and wives have worked diligently in these classes. They've read great books, filled out student books, shared together at home, and shared together in class. They have given themselves to many hours of 'hard labor' during this eight-week course. Most, if not all, would agree it's been worth it.
As facilitators for FDM, we would love to see every couple in the Detroit church complete these classes. We know from the scriptures and from experience that strong marriages make a strong church. Satan manages to destroy most marriages in the world as we see the percentage of divorce continually on the increase. Satan obviously works hard to destroy marriages among God's people too. Our goal as disciples is for disciples to marry disciples and build our marriages on a godly foundation. The FDM classes are a tool we can use to help keep these systems in place.
